Jess Naish Lingley is a twenty-something artist, day-dreamer, music lover, wife and borderline crazy-cat-lady. She has a thirst for creative knowledge and constantly chases inspiration. Her photographer husband and two cats provide a loving home for her among her many art books, canvases, sketchbooks, brushes, markers, pens, pencils and paints.
In an effort to become a better artist and improve her skills, in 2010 she decided to rekindle her love of art after neglecting it for several years after college by taking locally-offered art classes, ranging from drawing to painting. After almost two years of hard work, her portfolio got her accepted at NSCAD. She and her husband packed up everything (cats included) from their home in NB and moved to Halifax, NS to start a new life. She started on the road to her BFA in September 2012.
Though her focus is leaning toward painting & illustration, she wants to get her fingers into everything, including pottery, sewing and graphic design. Her quest will be a long and winding one with plenty of blood, sweat and tears, but most importantly, it will be a rewarding one.
